New Years Goals

The new year always feels great with a new fresh start on life. I love setting goals, both long term and short term. This year my main goal I will be focusing on is, reaching out to as many people as I can with my story, through my website and books. I would like to thank all of you who have shared my website with others. You are helping me achieve my goal.Well, this month has been excellent so far. Lynne and I had the opportunity to speak to three different youth groups recently and share our story. We first spoke to a group of young juveniles at the local county jail. Wow, what an experience. At first, none of these kids wanted us there and acted as if we were a burden for coming. After some persuasion we were able to get every single one of them to come out of their rooms to listen to what we had to share with them. I truly felt we reached those children and in a small way made an impact on their lives. We helped them realize that we all have dark days and "unfair" circumstances, but the important thing is how we deal with our situations and experiences in life. By the end of our time there, the children were very responsive to us, asking questions and sharing their experiences. I really felt it was an incredible evening for everyone there including Lynne and I. We also spoke with a group of young adults and also a local youth church group. The spirit was felt and we enjoyed sharing our experiences with these young people as well.
